Dance Stills: The Art of Contemporary Captured in Film
I found this picture on Tumblr that just took my breath away. I just wish I knew who this dancer was, but regardless this picture just reminds me why I love dance so much. The beauty and placement of her limbs is astounding! Look out for more posts, and always remember, “dance like no one is watching.”

Artist Spotlight: Lady Gaga Premieres "Marry the Night" Music Video
Yesterday, Lady Gaga premiered the visuals to her next single, Marry the Night, off of her third album Born This Way. Of course, Gaga presents us with a philosophical short-film to introduce the video, where it then goes into the main number, and boy do I tell you the choreography takes the cake! Laurieann Gibson did much justice to this song choreography-wise, bringing the 1980's New York City aesthetic to life in the movement and direction. For more of Lady Gaga's videos, you can visit her official YouTube channel.

Dance Reel: Remake of 'Footloose' to Debut on October 14, 2011
The remake of Footloose, a movie about an urban boy who moves to a rural area where dance and rock is banned, is set to debut on October 14, 2011. In the 1984 version, Kevin Bacon played the role of the dancing rebel, and this time around Kenny Wormald is filling the shoes. The trailer got me interested, so we'll see if Wormald can revive this classic story! View the trailer above and judge for yourself.

Choreo Corner: Gina Starbuck - "Mr. Rager" Choreography
I was looking around the Internet for some choreography to one of my favorite Kid Cudi songs, Mr. Rager, and I came across this video clip of a Contemporary piece being taught by Gina Starbuck. What Gina came up with for this song was nothing short of amazing. Check out this choreo and other choreo pieces at Gina Starbuck's YouTube Channel.

Culture Shock Dance Troupe performs "Kill Bill Vol. 3" at 2011 Dance Underground
So this picture here is from Culture Shock Dance Troupe's "Kill Bill Vol. 3"performance at the 2011 Dance Underground show in SUNY New Paltz. The performance was originally made for our annual Dance Evolution show/dance competition, but we decided to showcase it again. Here, we're performing our opening scene with a contemporary piece choreographed by Bina Fronda.
